Tuesday, August 11th…..the Indian River Golf Foundation has received official sanctioning of AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) Golf.  This means the IRGF has “Club” status and no longer
needs to be concerned with compliance with Florida High School Athletic
Association as it relates to the IRGF involvement with high school golfers
during their official season (fall).

Members of the IRGF “Club” may participate in AAU Golf events throughout the
United States including qualifying tournaments leading up to the National
AAU Golf Championships.  Once registered, members (juniors, adults and
seniors) paying $14 annually and registering on-line will have up to $50,000
Accidental Medical Insurance.  Once they have registered as a
non-participant, the leadership of the IRGF along with coaches, golf
professionals and other volunteers will have the same coverage.

With AAU Golf, the IRGF also has up to $10M liability insurance along with
each of our host facilities whether for practice, training or competitions.
With this liability coverage, the IRGF now meets the final requirements on
order to receive the first 1/2 of the $10,000 grant from the Florida Sports
Foundation.

The Treasure Coast Junior Golf Tour celebrates another successful summer
attracting over 100 participants.
Eighteen volunteers will be honored tomorrow (Thursday, August 13th) by the
leadership of the TCJGT, Bela Nagy at Quail Valley Golf Club for 18 holes of
golf.  The Indian River Golf Foundation will use this opportunity to award
the “Gus Mannino Award” recognizing the outstanding volunteer of the year
for the TCJGT.  Although given late notices, photographers of the Press
Journal and the Vero Beach Magazine have been invited out to Quail Valley.
We have our own camera as back-up.
