Windsor Valiants win AAU Girls Basketball 19u National Championship
October 8th, 2009Paul Levac, coach of the Windsor Valiants recounts his win at the 2009 AAU National Championships.
“During the past five years we have come home with a third place finish, a second and this past year with the eight girls that remained in our program we were able to come home with the first place trophy.”
In a fantastic championship match, the Valiants ended up coming out on top winning the game 79 to 66.
Many of the team’s players moved on to colleges and universities all across Canada such as the University of Windsor, whose team is once again ranked as the number one team in Ontario and will attempt to make their second trip in two years to the Canadian Championships.
“I encourage teams and coaches and parents to consider the AAU championships in Florida as not only an opportunity to play teams from parts of the United States but also to compete against some international competition.”
