Six-year-old wins Taekwondo title

Amare Biggers, 6 , won a gold medal in sparring at the AAU National Taekwondo Championships in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., this summer. He is the son of Colby and Kellye Biggers of Hermitage, and he studies taekwondo at Spirit Martial Arts in Hermitage. Amare was an orange belt in his division. He is now a green belt. Amare also won a bronze medal in the forms competition, placing third among a field of 17 competitors in his division. Amare is a second-grader at Stanford Montessori School in Donelson.
