Sooner Tumblers compete nationally

On August 3-7, 2009, Sooner Tumbling in Chickasha loaded up and headed to Des Moines, Iowa to compete in the AAU Junior Olympics with 12 athletes and two coaches in tow. The local athletes competed in power tumbling, mini and double trampoline against over 400 competitors from all over the United States.

After the competition, the group brought home eight gold, one silver, four bronze and seven additional top ten medals. The local squad was coached by Jim Stewart and Beverly Daniels. Coach Jim Stewart has coached 188 National Champion athletes.

Award-winning athletes include:
• Dalton Frazier, All-American Athletes Award (has won this award previously, as well)
• Aaron Williams, took a gold medal and is now a three-time National Champion and has won many State Championship titles.
