X-Treme Tumbling and Trampoline of Story City brought home 10 gold medals from the AAU Junior Olympics Aug. 4 to 7, in Des Moines. The team was led by Madison Hocking, a seventh-grader at South Hamilton Middle School, who won three gold medals. Hocking was Junior Olympic champion in sub-advanced double-mini, trampoline and synchronized trampoline and was also named to the Iowa championship team for double-mini.
Claire Wiseman, from Story City, won a gold medal and two silvers for the team. Claire was a gold medallist on beginner trampoline and completed her medal count with two silver medals on beginner double-mini and beginner tumbling.
Ayvarie Bappe, from Zearing, brought home a gold medal on beginner double-mini and a bronze medal in beginner tumbling. Ayvarie also earned an 18th-place finish on beginner trampoline.
Angela Schwartz, of Story City, earned a gold medal in sub-novice tumbling and also finished fifth on novice trampoline. Angela was also named to the Iowa championship team for trampoline.
Bridgit Schlafke, of Jewell, won a Junior Olympic gold medal on novice trampoline and also finished fourth in sub-novice tumbling and sixth in novice double-Mini.
Bridgette Clouser, of Roland, earned a gold medal on beginner trampoline and finished seventh in novice double-mini.
Kristie Cassels, of Story City, earned a gold medal in sub-advanced synchronized trampoline with her trampoline partner and teammate Madison Hocking.
Emile Vinson, of Fort Dodge, won the gold medal on novice double-mini and also placed 13th in sub-novice tumbling and 14th in novice trampoline.
Other medallists for the team were Allison Gardner, of Ames, taking the silver medal in sub-novice tumbling, and Ellie Lemer, of Ames, also earned a silver medal on Intermediate double-mini. Allison also finished sixth on novice double-mini and sixth on novice trampoline. Ellie finished fourth on sub-novice tumbling and fourth in intermediate trampoline.

Kristie Cassels, of Story City, intermediate tumbling 21st, sub-advanced double-mini 13th, sub-advanced trampoline sixth. Anna Ervin, of Jewell, sub-novice tumbling 23rd, beginner trampoline 11th. Shelby Hickman, of Roland, intermediate double-Mini 10th, intermediate trampoline fifth. Magdalene McGee, of Ames, novice double-mini 8th, novice trampoline fifth. Makenzi Schmitz, of Ames, advanced beginner tumbling sixth, beginner double-Mini seventh, beginner trampoline ninth. Alexis Smith, of Jewell, beginner double-mini 10th, novice trampoline 16th.
