14U Championship Game – Phelps Falcons and Woodbury Royals

In a repeat to the final pool play game, everyone was wondering if Woodbury would be able to respond in this David and Goliath match-up.

The Phelps team came out after halftime fired up and marching down the field scoring their first touchdown of the game. This narrowed the score 8-6.

After a defensive battle with crushing hits and fabulous plays, the Phelps team scored with just under two minutes left in the game. After missing the extra point, they had the lead by 4.

Woodbury quarterback threw an unbelievable 60 yard touchdown pass with just seconds left in the game, only to be called back because of a penalty.

In the most exciting game of the season, the Phelps Falcons came up victorious 12-8 and will represent Minnesota at the AAU National Tournament in Florida.
