2009 AAU World Event & Championship roster released

The 2009 AAU World Bench, Deadlift and Push/Pull Championships & International Powerlifting roster has been published. Some exciting lifters will be in heated battle just three weeks before Christmas.
One of the top ranked ladies is Helene Tropp. Helene will be lifting RAW and is looking for a 253 deadlift weighing approx. 100 lbs. Helene is 70 years young and is ranked 6th in the bench and deadlift. Another youngster Rudy Lozano is a regular member of the 400+ club at 181, he too is 70. Young Gordon Santee (63) is looking to move to the top 10 in the 148 deadlift rankings. In addition ranked lifter at 132 James Mathews has eyes on moving up the 148 ladder. He is one of the youngsters at 75 years young. His grand son is Mark Mathews age 19, who is currently ranked 9th in the bench with a 402, expect Mark to go into the top 10. The 181 AAU RAW Open Bench record holder Phil Cannizzaro will also be looking to be ranked in the upper echelon of this years rankings. At 181, Tony Rodriguez, is looking for a top 10 squat and deadlift. Spencer Westwood (assisted) is looking for top 5 rankings in the deadlift and totals possibly a number ranking. Narbe Mansourian is still dealing with a wrist injury, but should hit a top 5 ranking in the bench. He is the current AAU RAW record holder. Bill Croft is looking to finish the meet with a top 5 deadlift, a highly ranked squat and totals. Michelle Watts is looking for even higher rankings than her current top 10’s at 123. Her training partner, high ranked 114 pounded, Karan Villanueva is day for day. Other high ranked lifters include Matt Reep, Tish Henderson, Sheri Bauer. Others who are highly ranked or expected to get in the top rankings include. Mike Romero, Bob Dunham, Colin Bonneau (Canada), Alfred Hernandez (Mexico), Guy Powel, Diana Brill.
Many of the masters will be entering the rankings as well despite the age differences and of couse everyone is anxious to see what Mike Womack explodes to this time around. The meet is highlighted by the second ranked bench presser in the world on the Power Rankings, Mike Womack (shw). Womack holds the highest official single ply bench press in powerlifting history at 900 pounds.
