AAU Junior Olympics Games are Quickly Approaching

AAU Primary National Championship; Diving Nationals to be held in Coral Springs, Florida

Mark your calendars, because the AAU Junior Olympic Games are quickly approaching.

Recognized as the nation’s largest youth multi-sport competition, the AAU Junior Olympic Games feature 22 different sports and over 15,000 athletes.

The Games run from July 29 through August seventh in several locations in and around Virginia Beach including Hampton Roads, Chesapeake, Newport News, and Norfolk.

Some changes in this year’s Games include adding a beach tennis category and a three on three boys and girls basketball tournament. Another exciting addition to this year’s Games is the athletes’ celebrations. These celebrations will be held in Virginia Beach, August second and in Newport News August fourth to commemorate athletes and their families. The celebrations will include food, games, fireworks, and even a free showing of the movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Don’t miss your chance to compete in this exciting event! Here is another chance for Primary Age athletes to qualify for the AAU Junior Olympic Games. The ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex will host the AAU Primary National Championship starting July 10th through July 11th 2010. This event is the only single age division primary championship in the country! Best of all, the only prequalification you need, is an AAU membership. Registration deadline is July 7, 2010, so make sure you get those forms in early.

Get ready to dive into some action, as the Diving Nationals will be help in Coral Springs, FL from August 1st through August 9th, 2010, at the Coral Springs Aquatics Center. One new event added to the competition is Synchro Diving. Registration for this event is coming soon.
