Five year old Sammy Cohen is like most kids his age.  He likes Buzz Lightyear because he can fly.  But, Sammy’s is no Toy Story, he is one of the youngest competitive weightlifters you will ever see.

Sammy recently qualified for the AAU Junior Olympics.  The five year old will be one of 40 members of Team Savannah Weightlifting heading to Virginia Beach next week.  He will no doubt be the youngest and lightest lifter in the 11 and under classification.  Sam will compete in the snatch and clean and jerk.

Now, Sammy was born to lift.  He’s the son of former Olympian and coach Michael Cohen.  Sammy and his three siblings all left and excell in the sport.  Take a look at his story….enjoy!
