2010 Joel Ferrell Award Winner for Powerlifting

Connor DantzlerCongratulations to the 2010 Joel Ferrell Award Winner for Powerlifting at the AAU Junior Olympic Games. This year’s award winner was Connor Dantzler. This exceptional athlete competed in the 2010 AAU Junior Olympic Games in Hampton Roads, Virginia, from July 29 – August 7, 2010.

The Joel Ferrell Award is presented in honor of the former AAU President and Vice President of the U.S. Olympic Committee, and a chair of the AAU Junior Olympic Program for many years. He was instrumental in the growth of these Games. This is the most prestigious award that recognizes outstanding athletic accomplishments and sportsmanship of an athlete representing each official sport at the AAU Junior Olympic Games.

Connor Dantzler, age 16, from Demascus, Maryland is a talented athlete, active in his community and an honors student. Connor is an 11-time Powerlifting World Champion and has appeared on television shows such as ABC’s “The Tony Danza Show”. He also had his article “Discovering the Power of Powerlifting” published in three different fitness magazines. Along with being a skilled powerlifter, Connor also participates in Judo, Jujitsu, Karate, and Wrestling. The AAU congratulates this multi-talented athlete on his accomplishments and wishes him the best of luck in his bright future.
