2008 AAU DanceSport National Championships
February 14th, 2008The AAU DanceSport National Championships celebrated its 12th year in grand style on February 2, 2008. Many dancers from Utah and Idaho showcased their dancing talents and abilities before a capacity crowd of over 2,000. The event was held in Lehi, Utah and featured all levels of dancing from beginners to intermediate and open levels. The spectators were wowed by the various styles and skill levels of the dancers, and variety of costumes along with the enthusiasm and energy exhibited by the competitors. Afterwards, each competitor received an AAU Tshirt to commemorate their participation in the event. With music thumping up the crowd, the event concluded with a rousing balloon drop coupled with complimentary pizza and cake for all of the competitors!
Dancers from this event qualified to the 2008 AAU Junior Olympic Games being held in Detroit, Michigan. Atheltes will have the chance to compete against the best July 27 to 30 at the Allen Park Performing Arts Center. The AAU Junior Olympic Games is the largest national multi-sport event for youth in the United States. This year in Detriot, 22 sports will be contested from July 23 to August 2.
