ORLANDO– New York Metropolitan District’s Orange County Crusaders will return home with a national title.

The club defeated district competition, Newburgh Zion Lions, 59-58 to capture the AAU Junior Boys Division II National Championship game on Aug. 1 at Disney’s Wide World of Sports® Complex.

“We were a true ‘Hoosiers’ story,” said Crusaders club President Scott Harris. “We were an unknown local club for 10 years that made its first entry into Regional and National play.”

The club also celebrated the achievements of its 16 and under squad as they came in 2nd place in the Classic Championship game of the AAU 16 and Under Division II National Championship on July 12 in Little Rock, Ark.
