Longtime AAU volunteer tapped as Ohio school superintendent
December 3rd, 2008Dr. Roger Goudy, AAU National Secretary and Volleyball National Chair, is slated to be named the new superintendent for the Madison School district in northern Ohio.
Madison School Board President Dave Albert expressed extreme optimism that talks with Roger Goudy, Director of Business Affairs at South Euclid-Lyndhurst Schools since 1998, will be finalized by the board’s next regular meeting Dec. 16.
Dr. Goudy is slated to begin work for the district starting January 1, 2009.
He is excited at the chance to “work in conjunction with other Madison School leaders in providing the very best educational opportunities to the youth of the area.”
Dr. Goudy brings a wealth of professional and volunteer experience to the position. He holds both a Masters of Science degree from the University of Idaho and a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Akron along with his undergraduate degree from Kent State University.
He has been actively involved in the Ohio school system since 1974 where he started as a physical education teacher in the Warrensville Heights City School system.
Dr. Goudy’s AAU experience is extensive. He has served in numerous capacities for the AAU at the national and local level including AAU National Secretary since 1994 and AAU National Volleyball Chair since 1992. Other offices held were Lieutenant Governor (1990-1991 & 1994-2000) and Governor (1992-1994 & 2000-2004) of the Lake Erie AAU District.
Over the years, he has has garnered numerous AAU honors including induction into the AAU Hall of Fame in 1999.
