Ed Jinks, longtime AAU Athletics Volunteer was honored with induction into the
Class of 2009 Greater Savannah Athletic Hall of Fame

The awards dinner was held on May 4, 2009, at the Savannah Civic Center in Savannah, Georgia.  Ed was inducted as a citation honoree and former student athlete.  Ed was a track star which earned him a scholarship to FAMU.  After his playing days he returned to Savannah and coached football, basketball and track.

Ed has been involved in AAU Athletics for over 20 plus years, most notably in the Junior Olympic Games as the Chief Clerk of Course.  Most recently, Ed was the Georgia AAU Athletics Director and the Region 3B Athletics Director.  Ed also founded the Savannah Silver Cheetahs Track Club in 1991.
