Amateur Athletic Union has the distinct privilege to assist Afghan senior leaders with the guidance on rebuilding their sports programs.
LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL— The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) is set to host the Afghanistan National Olympic Committee (ANOC) November 3-10, 2011 at their National Headquarters in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
The ANOC oversees Afghanistan’s 44 sports federations. The purpose of the trip will be to increase the Afghan sports leaders’ visibility, understanding and sense of potential for Afghanistan’s national sports programs.
“We’re very excited to have the opportunity to host the ANOC and be able to share strategies from a business and sports standpoint that have worked for us,” said James Parker, Director of Sports for the AAU. “Sports are a great vessel to develop today’s youth and we’re honored to be able to have a part in cultivating youth outside of our immediate reach.”
The AAU, one of the largest non-profit sports organizations in the United States, is dedicated to the promotion and development of amateur sports in the U.S and around the world. With their motto “Sports for All, Forever”, the AAU is excited to empower the ANOC senior leaders through their extensive experience and knowledge of business and sports.
